“Astroturismo” was created jointly by the Córdoba Tourism Agency, the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Province of Córdoba, and UNC. Astrotourism or astronomical tourism is a new touristic product that may be enjoyed in the province of Córdoba which promotes contact with nature as well as with the wonderful Córdoba sky.

On the launching of “Astroturismo”, the history that the province holds regarding research, community outreach, and dissemination of Astronomy provided by the Córdoba Astronomical Observatory was highlighted. This observatory was the first scientific institution to pioneer. the spreading of this science in the country.

The objective of this venture is to promote new spaces and activities that raise awareness of looking at clean skies free of light pollution. The Bosque Alegre Astrophysical Station and the Astronomical Observatory will be key spaces for these activities together with the rest of the offer provided by the Córdoba Tourism Agency.
