Project overview: The work will be performed within a research line related to wireless networks. The major objective of the research line is the development of technology within the scope of Next Generation Internet and Beyond 5G networks. The scientific and technological aspects involved in the activities to be performed are focused on the development of novel intelligent wireless communications solutions, which will take advantage of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques.

Work Area: Quantitative methods for decision support and Operations Research
Project overview: The candidate will conduct research on shared mobility systems and quantitative methods for decision support in this scope. New approaches will be developed to tackle fleet management and pricing problems under uncertainty, namely mathematical models, meta- and matheuristics. There will also be a focus on demand and user behavior modelling, and simulation and scenario-based tools to deal with uncertainty. This is a collaborative position and thus the candidate will be working with other researchers.

Work Area: Quantative Methods for Decision Support and Operations Management
Project overview: The candidate will conduct research on supply chain management and work in themes relevant to the remaining research/development team. This is a collaborative position, which means that the candidate will be working with other researchers/scientists, executives, consultants, software engineers, clients, and others. The candidate is expected to disseminate results through the publication of scientific papers in international journals.
