Hola! Pecla has shifted to online classes

With more than 30 students from all over the world (Brazil, Germany, the US, France, Italy, and England), the UNC’s prestigious program has adapted its teaching to this new environment.

Since March 16th, the Spanish Language and Latin American Culture Program (Pecla) at Universidad Nacional de Córdoba has been delivering its semester courses virtually. With more than 30 students from all over the world (Brazil, Germany, the US, France, Italy, and England), the UNC’s prestigious program has adapted its teaching to this new environment.

Students attend synchronous teleconference classes on multiple platforms on scheduled days and times. In addition to these classes, Pecla has its own asynchronous virtual classroom, the Moodle learning management tool. This is used for support and as an archive for class materials, forums, evaluations, and other information.

All semester students are taking courses according to their academic needs.  Some of them, still from Córdoba and others, from their home country. In addition to these academic activities, Pecla offers its traditional (and now virtual) Speaking Partners program for student support and cultural exposure, providing them with the opportunity to interact with locals. This way, students share their customs, language and experiences.

“When we started on this path, forced to do so by circumstance, we set out to do what Pecla knows best: to educate with academic quality and humanity”, claimed the Pecla coordination.

Cultural immersion at the heart of Argentina

Created in 2008, the Spanish Language and Latin American Culture Program (Pecla) is intended for international students who are not native Spanish speakers and wish to take specific university courses on Spanish language and Latin American culture.

Pecla integrates Spanish language with Latin American culture into non-degree university level courses taught by university professors. Courses meet international teaching standards as regards content, class load, exams and academic certifications.
